Re: Down and out in Atlanta

Blow by Blow no pun intended If you know anything about atlanta traffic it will provide some perspective..Essentially I was heading home from the Airport (this particular trip I chose jet engines vs combustion). Anyway it was a cold and drizzly night (forgive the pros) and I was moving from I85 nort...

Re: Valve Tapping?

I hate those kinds of problems ..Its one thing to find a problem and realize you cant fix it ..its another to never be able to nail it down for sure..had something similar on my 4 wheeled vehicle in the past..The only way to get rid of the nag in my head was to trade it for a newer one ;-)...Good lu...

Re: Valve Tapping?

Riverside - Its not uncommon for it to clank a little on initial startup as its pressurizing the oil ...If it stops I wouldnt worry about changing it out. I was confused by your last post.. Are you saying it goes away completely or that the initial tapping where tensioner is goes away but that you s...

Re: Valve Tapping?

Could it be the cam chain tensioner... The original stock tensioner loses it's hydraulic pressure after a while..I changed mine out and the sound went away ...was like a tapping at idle after a hot ride. Now it purrs and sounds more like just oil sloshing around lubricating the gearing..Chris Harris...

Cruising speed on your 1150

Survey What speed/rpm do you get the best performance and least aggression with your bike? I took mine down I 75 to florida and cruised between 85-95 mph at 4.2-4.5 RPMs she seemed to purr nicely . These aren't speed demons but hold their own any opinions on cruising speeds and shifting RPMs ..note ...

Used the Etymotic Ear phones with foam buds..worked great..have a little bit of ring but much better than not using at all..also for those that are looking at a microphone combo note wind noise cancels out the output of sound fro...
