Tires in Oklahoma City Ares

Post by mmrabit »

All,
I just moved to the OKC area and am wondering where besides the dealer is a good place to get tires or get tires mounted that I may get from the internet.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Since Michelin is my preference brand, I did some search few days ago.
I just got a set of tires (front and rear) from Competition Accessories.
Michelin Pilot Road 2 Dual Compound for $266.97 total price, including delivery.
I think last year I paid for the same set about $300.00
My local dealer does not install tires if you did not buy it from him.
I take my wheel to the small shop. 15 bucks for the new stem and mount per tire.
I balance my tires with the DynaBeads. Works fine for me.

Good Luck.

Wow!!!! I believe that is a heck of a price for those tires. They tend to be more expensive then most (quality tires are not cheap). I too use a local shop to mount tires, works for me. Motorcycle USA has a deal going where they recommend a shop to mount the tires you buy from them, perhaps they have one in your area. I haven't checked their price for that particular tire, but their prices tend to be very good.

Motorcycle Superstore is good too. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/ ... -Tire.aspx I see I can buy a set of Pirelli Stradas for $250 with free shipping. I think they'll ship it directly to your favorite installer.
I've bought 2 sets from them.
I don't get caught in the rain, I ride in it on purpose.

I really apprecaite all the useful input, this is a great group. Does anyone have any experience with shops in the Oklahoma City area that will mount and balance tires bought on the internet? It seems like alot of shops REALLY want you to buy the tires from them.
Thanks,
Mike :D

Enter your zip code, you should have a list of shops to help in your area.

I have always heard good thing about SW moto tires. Free/fast shipping and low prices. I know some people who mount their own tires and always go through these guys. May be worth checking for price comparison.
