Re: AF-XIED - This thing is amazing!
I have had mine in since July. 8000 feet down to 4000 and less feet, 100 degrees F down to 22F. I can't tell any difference in mileage and it runs smoother and is more responsive than stock. 2004 Rockster.

Thanks very much chaps.....added to my Christmas list.
Re: AF-XIED - This thing is amazing!
Installed the AF-XIED last weekend and noticed an immediate improvement in smoothness at lower rpm's. The hesitation is gone when running a higher gear at 2500 - 3,000 rpms. I was down shifting out of habit at the lower rpm's around town and realized I could keep it in the higher gear and accelerate strongly without any hesitation. It has smoothed out the engine. Like it was said earlier, it's like a new bike!
The install was very easy. The longest part was taking the tank off. The rest is plug and play!

That's just how it should work! Don't be surprised if you find yourself accidently shifting into 6th gear at 45-50 mph on a level road, it's just the engine telling you it's good to go.ctRrider wrote:Installed the AF-XIED last weekend and noticed an immediate improvement in smoothness at lower rpm's. What setting are you running?

"What setting are you running?"
Started at #7. Now running at #8. The bike runs effortlessly. It is somewhat like having pain disappear. You don't notice it is gone until you think about it. Smooth at high speed and smooth at low. Roll-on response still makes me smile.

What is this unit? A tune-box for more power? Like one you buy on ebay for cars?

The AF-XIED is an electronic device designed and built by Nightrider.com, sold by Beemerboneyard, that connects in series with the O2 sensor. It shifts the sensor's rich/lean switch point causing the ECU to richen the mixture anywhere from 1% to about 10% depending on setting. Most engines run more smoothly and pull better at low RPMs with a little added fuel.

Ok, is there any video who shows how you connect it? I got it on my table now, but my english is not the best.

I don't know of any video.
On the R1150, the O2 sensor connector is under the tank, tie-wrapped to the frame, on the right side, just to the right of the alternator. Are you familiar with that connector? It is about 1.25 cm in diameter and about 4 cm long when plugged in.
All you do is open the connector, carefully, connect the two af xied connectors to the open ends that you took apart.
Then run the af xied cable along the right frame toward the airbox and connect its ground to battery negative. Then plug the two white connectors together.

Here is a good link that shows a beta unit before the addition of the white Molex connector.

Thank you Roger 04! (Thumb up)
Re: AF-XIED - This thing is amazing!
There is no "clicks" in the little box. Is that normal? Should I start at 6 or 7? My bike is original.

Not sure what you mean by no clicks but the adjustment dial operation is smooth, with no detents. Start at 7 flashes, it doesn't matter whether your bike is stock or not. Run a few tanks of fuel and if all is well, try settings 8 and 6 for a few tanks each.

After I conect this amazing thing I got some noise from left trottlebody. If I only lay my hand on the trottle it starts nocking down at left throttlebody. Why? (The wires is all fine and on right place)
Re: AF-XIED - This thing is amazing!
throttle body shaft could be worn out. look it up. its rebuildable.Torsen wrote:After I conect this amazing thing I got some noise from left trottlebody. If I only lay my hand on the trottle it starts nocking down at left throttlebody. Why? (The wires is all fine and on right place)

Re: AF-XIED - This thing is amazing!
There isn't any real connection between the throttle body and the AF-XIED. However, your idle speed should have gone up 100 rpm, give or take. For the same TB adjustment, that would have increased manifold vacuum, which might have made loose TB shafts make more noise. The other possibility is that something else changed at about the same time.Torsen wrote:After I conect this amazing thing I got some noise from left trottlebody. Well, it runs normal so I think I take this to the winterservice.
