It would make the ultimate GS, light, powerful, and it would be better off road than the current GS due to weight. I have heard rumors, but they were only that...

Hot bike. But is this Motorraad's way of telling us they've hit the limit on what they can do with a boxer? If they could ever once just wax hell out of a 'Busa would they then be able to relax?
Ah, I am a simple man of the Pleistocene.
Your "cell-phones" and "sport utility vehicles"... they frighten me...

Trouble for the New 800cc Beemer...
Ya' know...
I was really cheering hard for BMW when the first rumors hit about their new 800cc parallel twin... Wanting nothing more than for them to produce something unique, with class-leading performance, and all at a competitive price... A price that would entice new blood into the Beemer fold.
But you have to admit, this is pretty conventional...

No new ground really broken anywhere, and running down the details it appears it is not really an "in-house" BMW, but more of a "kit bike" made up of vendor contracted pieces (including the engine)... And chances are it will be more than $10,000.00 by the time it hits the dealer's showroom floor.
Is it really $3000.00 or $4,000.00 ducats better than this?

Or this?

Or even worth $1.00 more than this?

The Triumph will certainly be the most unique and different of the bunch, and given Triumph's recent trend in this segment of the market, should be smooth, comfortable, and a great all-around motorcycle...
Just my shilling and a half...
Cheers!

I would go for the Suzuki or BMW, before the Triumph or Ninja. Plastic covered bikes, are plastic covered bikes. I wanna see the engine. The Triumph's seat looks like a a$$ buster.
The more I look at other bikes the more satisfied I am with my R. It is not perfect, but it is very capable in a very wide variety of riding conditions. Really the only other bike I have a lust for is the BMW GS, either airhead, or 1150/1200 setup(not the 1100). But then I realize that it is just a jacked up R.
