Come on, people. You only paid $15,000.00 for your bike. Do you really expect to get a metal spare key!? The next thing you know, someone will be wining about the center stand not being standard equipment!

....oh wait...that would be me....

Mark,

I realize sometimes things look better in person than in a photo. But to my eye, not only is this faring proportionally oversize, its roundness doesn't blend with the angularity of the tank at all. For what it's worth, I am solidly with fly/Mark on this one.

That photo might just be a come-on, DJ. I don't know about Australia, but I get deliveries by a big, homely, balding thing with a day's worth of stubble. I guess I should be happy, though. She's a little better looking than the guy she replaced!

Kevlar !?,Cordura !?,Keprotec !?,Dynatec !?, Denier !?....Come on, guys, do you have a primer for someone who's worn jeans while riding for the last 40 years? Since I don't expect to heal as fast as I did in my younger day, plus the fact that there are a lot of crazy cagers loose on the streets, I'v...

Anyone Using a Pod?

http://www.ascycles.com/detail.aspx?ID=43172 My R is becoming to be my vehicle of choice. Since I'm using it for daily activities I find I often need to carry something. I have several luggage systems that I've collected over the years, all of which have some drawbacks in functionality, looks and e...

Yes, Mr. Klink. I was there on R & R from Vietnam. And yes, I had the same agenda as your colleague at the time. I do have regrets not seeing more of your beautiful land when I had the chance. But, I was 20 years old. What did I know? Thank you for inquiring. And my apologies to all for going of...

Sweet bike, Klink. And beautiful settings as well. It makes me wish that I'd seen more of the countryside around Sindney when I was there in 1969. Oh well...enough reminisence, back to bikes. Did you, or anyone, consider lowering the pegs instead of getting the higher seat? Kits are for sale to drop...

You don't need help with the good. I can't help with the bad.

But Nathan turned me on to a modified aftermarket tail light assembly that cleans up that ugly part:

Mr. Dountless, I like the vibration that moves the mirrors and tank a little at idle. You should know, if you haven't riden one, that it's not the kind of filling loosening vibe you would experience with, say, a vintage British twin, but you know you got an engine down there. You got some ponies wor...

Hello Mr. Person, Check back about a page for a topic on bar risers. Moto-Techniques were recommended there. I got that brand after reading the thread and I'm very happy with them. There was a mention of another riser but I can't remember the name, so you are on your own locating that one. Maybe som...

Pin Stripes

I washed and waxed my bike tonight. After the job was done, I got a lawn chair and a Labatts and gazed fondly at it for some time. I had passed on the pin stripes option when I ordered it. The angular design didn't appeal to me (although they look better in photos of real bikes than in the productio...

Allow me to give an unsolicited endorsement for the dark tinted sports shield. I bought one (at full price) and it looks great on my black 12R. It hides the instruments and makes sense out of the droopy looking headlight (if you see one on the bike you will know what I mean about the headlight). Min...

Stereo Option

I read on a thread here that someone had a stereo/am/fm/cd on an R12R. Is that a BMW option? I couldn't find it on the BMW homepage. Where could I get one and how much are they? It really would be nice to have some music with my ride. Let's see... What would I listen to on a sunny day rolling down t...

DR: Thanks for the part number. I got the handlebar risers and installed them today. They make quite a difference. I have to give all of you who took a test ride before buying a lot of credit for your patient, in-depth pre-purchase consumer research. I knew I was going to buy one when I first saw and sat on one at the dealer.

I'm at about the same number of miles. Yes, I've noticed vibration at idle with the gas tank that smoothes out if I raise the rpm's a little. Also some vibration in the mirrors under strong acceleration. Nothing rattling, though (you might want to get that looked at). My experience with another late...
