I don’t know if it is water problem. I ride my bike (1150 R) very often in extremely heavy rain but nothing wrong is happened. My guess (if it is really the rain) that there is some thing wrong with the motor which you should find out…

I am using synthetic oil SAE 20W-50 since I bought the bike new in 2002. It works very good and I have no problem with it...
